I have compiled the Birdie data for the last 3 years and passed it to the Captain to award badges.
I do not have the data for 2012 readily available but the data for the last 2 years will be shown via a link , if I can get it to work.... link
It reveals an interesting trend which is that the quantity of Birdies per hole does not necessarily correlate to the stroke index for that hole.
As a novice golfer, I expected the ‘easiest’ holes to deliver the most Birdies and conversely the ‘hardest’ holes not to have any; except in the case of hole 2, SSI 1, this hasn't occurred.
You will see that the most Birdies were achieved on hole 7, stroke index 15, whereas hole 16, stroke index 2 delivered more Birdies than hole 18 which has a stroke index of 16. Can anyone explain this?
I don’t know how many Birdies were achieved at hole 19 but I am offering a bottle of wine to any member of the section that achieves a Birdie on hole 2 in 2015!
I am very pleased to confirm that Hazel Brunnen achieved a birdie on Hole 2 this year and as promised, was presented with a bottle of red at the Autumn meeting.
